Blog Candy

Okay, here we go.  Are you ready for blog candy?  The first person to answer this question correctly wins.  You must post your answer in a comment on this blog.

There’s a  new website that I frequently visit.  I would say that I visit this site on a daily basis.  If you know me at all, you’ve heard me talk about it.   I’ve made several friends on this website.  What is the name of the website?

Is it time for blog candy?

So….is it time for blog candy?  Well, it’s to late for me to be thinking clear at the moment.  Ah….you say “you think clear?”  Well, sometimes I do.  Come back tomorrow and I’ll post the blog candy game.

Layout for Scrapbook Club

As promised, I’ve updated my blog with the scrapbook club layout for September.  I’m so sorry the color are blurry.  Just in case you can’t tell, the cardstock colors are Always Artichoke,  Apricot Appeal, Elegant Eggplant,  Very Vanilla, and Dusty Durango.  The stamp set is Inspired by Nature.  For the stamp set, I used Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, and Really Rust.  I think that’s it!!

I love the fact that we used a stamp set and no scrapbook paper.  We have all these stamps, so why not use them!!  Now….that’s not to say that I won’t use the Designer Series Paper for our November scrapbook club.

If you’re in my scrapbook club, be sure to come to our November club.  Right now (and this may change), I may use the set Delightful Decorations.  It’s kind’ve of up in the air right now!!!

All Most Fall - Page 2

This next little card was made for a swap with my friend Jen.  It’s a 3X3 Christmas swap.  I love these little note cards.  I only used 3 colors. (if you call whisper white a color)  The base of the card is Night of Navy, Whisper White and then I embossed the little tree from the Jolliest Time of the Year.  I made several of these little suckers cause they were super fast!

Jolliest Time of the Year

And…this last project is another swap.  It’s for my All About You Swap that’s hosted on the Demo side of Stampin’ Addicts.  Even though this card looks oh so simplistic, you try it!  It’ hard to get those little squares lined up perfectly and centered.  Oh, and you can’t use a punch because the squares are a little bit bigger than Stampin’ Up’s square punches.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for right now.  I’ve got a couple of more swaps or cards to post but I haven’t taken a picture of them just yet.  Happy stamping!!

Busy Girl!!

Okay, even though I don’t post every single day, don’t think I’m not doing anything!!! Check it out!!!!

The card below is for a swap that I’m working on with my SA Sistah’s! These girls are so talented. This was one of the few stamp sets that would be considered fallish. So this is the set that I chose to do! It’s called Autumn Harvest. Love this set.  It’s perfect for masking!

Autumn Harvest - Pumpkins

The Autumn Harvest card above was made using re-inkers.  I mad 20 of these cards and they pretty much look exactly alike.  It was a little time consuming but oh, so worth it!  It makes me want a pumpkin pie!!!

What did I use?

  • Stamp Set – Autumn Harvest
  • Card stock – Chocolate Chip, Dusty Durango, Old Olive, Kraft and Water Color Paper
  • Ink – Jet Black Stazon, the rest all re-inkers…ruby red, more mustard, dusty durango, old olive, chocolate chip and close to cocoa
  • Accessories – Aqua painters, old olive brads, 1/16 whole punch, detressor tool, dusty durango polka dot grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch…I think that’s it!!

So there you have it.  I used lots of stuff and they were so fun to make!   Let’s see what you can come up with using re-inkers!!

Empty CD Holder

It’s an empty CD holder, what can I say?  Well, I guess I can say I didn’t come up with this idea on my own. A good friend of mine and now a Stampin’ Up! demo gave me this idea.  Before Linda became a demo, she was in my club and brought these cute CD holders with homade cookies inside.  She had decorated the outside of the holder with different types of red hearts. It was February and it was her month to host the club.  Everybody was so impressed at what she had done.  Now that it’s turning fall, I thought I’d try this with a bit autumn touch to it.   And….the cookies are store bought!!  These are absolute perfect to make when you need something quick!

Chocolate Chip Cookies CD

What did I use?

  • Stamp Set – Jumbo Wheel Kindness
  • Card Stock - These are CD holders that I purchased at Walmart
  • Ink – Basic Black Cartridge, Markers – Mellow Moss, Ruby Red, Summer Sun, and Close to Cocoa

The next little item was something that I made a couple of weeks go, but didn’tt have time to photo.  I thinking of renting a table at Jessica’s school carnival and if I do, these will go on the table.  I’d really like to show how everyone how great Stampin’ Up! is and it’s not just for cards or scrapbooking.  I dearly love scrapbooking and making cards, but I also love to make 3D items too!  So, what do you think of these little birthday treats??

  Hershey Happy Birthday

And these little bookmarks…are they not adorable?  They were so, so fast and easy!  Just a little DSP,  just a little ribbon, just a little eyelet and just a little cardstock.  Cut the cardstock, cut the DSP, adhere it to each other, attach the eyelet, thread the ribbon and wala!!!  You’ve got a bookmark!!!  And in my case, you’ve got 30 of these little suckers!!!

Bookmarks

My last creation that I want to show you is a Christmas card that I made using the set Home for Christmas.  This set is one of those sets that I really don’t use that often because it calls out a lot of detail.  I used re-inkers as my choice of water color because I could make it bold or very light depending upon the amount of water.  I also used the shimmering paints and lots of glitter.  I think my whole kitchen now now sparkles!   I had the hardest time trying to figure out what SU colors that the other cardstock should be.  I placed the image several different backgrounds and nothing screamed.  So I put the painted image up and looked at it again the next day.  And finally, I decided to use simply Whisper White and Basic Black.  That’s the ticket!!!  So how many did I make…..30!!!   Whew!

One of other note.  I told you that I used the re-inkers.  I used real red but it sure didn’t turn out real red.  I think that’s another reason I had a hard time wit the coordinating the cardstock.  Does it look like real red to you on the door and sled?  Tell me what you think.

Home for Christmas

What did I use?

  • Stamp Set – Home for the Holidays
  • Cardstock – Whisper White and Basic Black
  • Ink – Stazon Jet Black …..Re-inkers – Real Red, Olive, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Basic Black, Ballet Blue
  • Markers – Basic Gray
  • Accesories – Champagne Shimmering Paint, Stampin’ Glitter, and 1/4 Basic Black grosgrain ribbon

That’s all for today.  Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think about all the projects above.  Would love to hear from you!

Something old…something new…

Tonight, I was looking thru a stack of cards that I had stored in one of those clear 12X12 plastic boxes and found this card. It’s an older card from 2008, but still I just love the peaceful look.  It’s a rather simple card.  I’m sure that I’ve cased it from somewhere or somebody. Asking me to remember where I would have cased this is like asking me what I did on my 3rd birthday. Then again, maybe I didn’t case it. Anyway, I fell in love with this card once again!

It’s All About Fall

Hey ladies!  I’m still here well and alive.  Working full-time, married with 2 small children can keep a gal busy!   I truly enjoy my life but it can get crazy!!!   I’m just not one of those gals that sit and do nothing.  If I’m watching tv, it’s usually late at night.  If I’m stamping, it’s usually late at night.

So…..this is for the demos that keep up with my blog.  Be sure to join my demo swap.  It’s called “It’s All About Fall.”  You can find the details here.  Should be lots of fun.   Hope to see your creations!!!

Betty wins….

Betty wins everything needed (uh…not literally everything) to make this card.  I will send her all the cardstock, brads, DSP squares (already cut into the sqaure scallop), etc.  All she’ll have do is assemble it.  So….Betty, send me your home address and I will deliver!!  Be sure to send it to my email address… ellen@volstate.net

For the crafter…blog candy!

It’s time to start thinking Christmas!  Can you believe that I only have 8 more pay checks before Christmas?  It’s almost that time of year again!  It’s also time to start thinking about Christmas crafts and I’m thinking of Christmas cards.

The card below is made from some older DSP that I held on to.  It’s called Ski Slope and I’m totally in love with it!  It kind’ve reminds me a little of Scandinavia.  It also reminds me of my grandma patched quilts.   Oh, nothing about the Scandinavian part reminds me of my grandma!  My grandma was part Indian!  Back to the card…it measures 5×5.  I maykeep it or I may send it to someone special this Christmas.
